Secretary Dag Hammarskjold receives his last call prior to embarking on his ill-fated flight to Africa, September, 1961. Secretary Hammarskjold was due to meet for talks with President Moise Tshombe of Katanga Province. Twelve other people died in the fatal crash.

As the photographer struggles to get their attention, the ladies from the Victorian Women’s Golf team share their outrage at the latest exploits of Canadian golfer George ‘The Roar’ Lyon, caught consorting with a nightclub chanteuse in his hometown of Richmond, Ontario. Lyon would go on to win the Gold Medal at the 1904 St Louis Olympic Games.
